Farm and Community Living Place in the Mountains
Our activities, which began 40 years ago, are non-profit and have no religious vocation. We practice subsistence agriculture based on several diversified vegetable gardens, an orchard, medicinal plants, along with raising a herd of 80 goats, 2 draft horses, a poultry yard (chickens, geese, ducks), as well as dogs and cats. Our farm spans 60 hectares and allows us to live self-sufficiently for vegetables and dairy products.
A Place of Preservation
Ramounat is also, and above all, a place for the preservation and reappropriation of ancestral and peasant know-how. We use traditional manual methods and work without machines. Here, there is no oil, no gas, no engines; energy comes from wood, water, the sun, horses, and especially from us humans! This is where our strength lies, for beyond skills, we cultivate ways of being through learning to live together. Through our association, we welcome people (often young) who face family and social difficulties. We are open to the world; everyone is welcomed as they are!
Simple and Rustic Life
A simple, rustic, and friendly life with well-filled days, starting with the song of birds and ending with the sound of musical instruments!
The farm is a living, evolving organism; its organization is collective, and everyone is responsible for their investment in the functioning and development of the place. There is no leader, no numerical goals to achieve, no obligations, but beings sharing their lives with the will to co-create a more harmonious world with nature.
